The Nissan Note recently came in two performance-tuned versions, Nismo and Nismo S. They are available in Nissan showrooms in Japan. 2015 Nissan Note Nismo come with base untuned engine with couple sport modifications. The Nismo S comes with upgraded engine and better powertrain. Unfortunately this sport MPV will be available only in Japan. There is no information about possibility to see them on US roads.
2015 Nissan Nismo redesign
Exterior design received the biggest transformation. On the front fascia there are new mesh grille, new LED headlights and sport bumper. There are also deeper side skirts, bigger rear spoiler and large 17 inch wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires. Interior of the new Note Nismo features Nismo designed instrument cluster, sport seats (Recaro bucket seats comes as an option), aluminum pedals, new Alcantra steering wheel, and new safety system like Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and automated emergency braking.
Nissan Nismo specs
The base Nissan Note is powered by 1.2-liter engine that produces 109 horsepower paired with Xtronic automatic CVT transmission. The Note Nismo comes with base untuned model. The Nismo S model gets 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 29 horsepower more than the standard unit. This powerplant delivers 138 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 120 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. This powerplant is mated to 5-speed manual transmission. Beside engine, other components also received some modifications. Suspension is slightly modified and now it makes handling stiffer, disc brakes are now on all four wheels, air-intake tubing is larger and it received sport exhaust.
Price of the new Nissan Nismo
The 2015 Nissan Note Nismo is only available in Japan. The standard Nismo model has a price around $18,000 (1.95 million yen) while the more performance Nismo S comes with price about $20,500 (2.2 million yen).
