There are a lot of fast saloons out there and some of them are really good but not many are as good as some fast Cadillac models. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has just been revealed and it is better than most people anticipated. The older version of this car was quite appreciated and it managed to get a lot of people on its side. The only drawback of that car was the fact that there were a few other European saloons which did the exact same thing at a lower price. GM also said that even though the Cadillac CTS-V 2016 is quite inexpensive, they didn’t do anything to make it worse. It is a genuine Cadillac with all the bells and whistles of a Cadillac but with the performance of a super car.
2016 Cadillac CTS-V redesign
The exterior of the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is going to be very similar to that of the V-Sport model. The front fascia is going to be the one thing that will differentiate the two models, with the CTS-V getting a new pair of headlights with new daytime running lights.
Inside the cabin the new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is going to feature a lot more equipment as well as subtle touches that are going to make it a bit better over the normal CTS. The seats, both in the front and back, will have better lateral support and all of them are going to be electrically heated and ventilated. The dashboard is going to feature a new 7 inch infotainment system while the driver will get a heads-up display, similar to that in the Corvette. The steering wheel will be multifunctional with the audio controls as well as the paddle shifters for the gearbox are going to be on the back side of it.
Cadillac CTS-V 2016 specs
Engine wise, it will have a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, most likely the one from the Corvette Z06. This engine will make as much as 640 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque which is almost just as much as the new RS6. Thanks to it, the Cadillac CTS-V 2016 will easily get from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 3.7 seconds and up to a maximum top speed of 200 mph, making it one of the fastest executive saloons in the World. Unlike its competitors, the CTS-V will only be offered with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and rear wheel drive which is a good combination but considering its competitors, an all wheel drive system, even if optional, would make it that much better.
2016 Cadillac CTS-V release date and price
The new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V will be available in the middle of 2015. Cadillac CTS-V 2016 is going to be released on the market at a starting price around $75,000, which means that it is at least $30,000 cheaper than any other competitor coming from Europe.
