The current model of the Escalade luxury SUV has been launched on the market in the summer of 2014, so it is quite a new model by any standards. However, at its launch, Cadillac released a statement which said that they are going to add features to the car as the time goes. Well, here we are, a year later with the announcement of a 2016 Cadillac Escalade which is going to feature a few new tricks that are surely going to put it high in the charts. The new Cadillac Escalade 2016 will receive slightly design changes with same engine lineup.
2016 Cadillac Escalade redesign
The exterior of the 2016 Cadillac Escalade will remain very similar to that of the current model. The change will come in the form of a new front bumper for the sport model as well as a new rear exhaust system. On the inside things will stay pretty much the same, with the base car getting all the things you would ever want from luxury SUV. There will be leather upholstery, satellite navigation, a four-screen infotainment system with a surround audio system, USB connectivity as well as internet access and five very comfortable seats. The Cadillac Escalade 2016 V-Sport model will get red tread stitching, the possibility of getting a premium cloth upholstery and even a new steering wheel.
Cadillac Escalade 2016 luxury SUV specs
Engine wise, the 2016 Cadillac Escalade will remain with the same 6.2-liter V8 which makes up to 420 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque which is good for a luxury SUV like this but it isn’t something that you would call fast. This engine will come with a 6-speed automatic and either rear wheel drive or all wheel drive. The V-Sport model on the other hand is supposed to get a new 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 which is likely to make more than the current 420 horsepower on some other of their models. This will not only give it an edge in terms of fuel consumption over the competition but also in terms of power and performance. The Cadillac Escalade 2016 with this engine will only come in all wheel drive form and it will be mated to a new 9-speed automatic gearbox.
2016 Cadillac Escalade release date and price
The release date for Cadillac Escalade 2016 could be at the end of 2015, at the same time with the new Escalade V-Sport which is actually going to use a new engine rather than a supercharged version of the same engine in the normal car. While the current model of this luxury SUV is selling for around $65,000 in its standard form, a nicely equipped one will set you back up to $75,000 which is not that much considering some other cars which aren’t that well equipped will cost up to $70,000. It seems that 2016 Cadillac Escalade will cost just a tad bit more thanks to the introduction of some new engines as well as a few new interior features.
