The upcoming 2016 Honda CRV was spotted on the roads while testing. The new Honda CRV 2016 will come next year with slightly redesigned front and rear end. Under the hood of this midsize SUV will be same engines like in current model so we can expect almost same performance and fuel economy.
2016 Honda CRV redesign
If we look the testing mule of the upcoming 2016 Honda CRV we can see heavy camo on the front and rear end. That means that facelift will affect on both ends while side will stay unchanged. Under the dark camouflage we can notice smaller grille and narrower headlights. It will have lower bumper that we could see on a new Fit while new taillights will be on the rear end. Inside the Honda CRV 2016 there won’t be no major changes compared to the current model. Like the 2015 CRV base model will came with Air Condition system, Cruise control, Audio system with 4 speakers, infotainment system with 7” touch screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and many more. The higher trim levels will come with dual-zone climate control, Lane keeping assist system, Honda lane watch, keyless entry with start/stop push button, HomeLink remote system, leather wraped steering wheel and shift knob.
Honda CRV 2016 engine
The heart of the new 2016 Honda CRV will be old engines that will be carried over from current model. Depending on markets Hondas midsize SUV will come with different powertrain. For US markets there will be a 2.4-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine that delivers 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. The upcoming Honda CRV 2016 will come with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic transmission with Sport Mode. The fuel consumption of Honda midsize SUV should be as the current model which is rated at 29 mpg combined (27/34 city/hwy).
2016 Honda CRV release date and price
The 2016 Honda CRV release date will be unveiled in first half of 2015 probably on New York Auto Show. The base price of the Honda CRV 2016 will be around $24,000 which is almost the same price as the current model of Honda midsize SUV.
