2016 Jaguar XF sedan price, interior, pictures – The XF from Jaguar managed to evolve tremendously since it was originally launched back in 2008. The latest generation has just been released back in March 2015 and it seems to be a better car than ever before. However, because Jaguar now has a new baby car in their lineup, the XE, the XF doesn’t have to be the entry level model, so it is now offered as an upmarket alternative to cars such as the Mercedes E-Class or the Cadillac CTS. The engine lineup of the new Jaguar XF 2016 has been shrunk in order to allow the XE to make sense.
2016 Jaguar XF redesign
The exterior of the 2016 Jaguar XF wasn’t left untouched, so while from the distance the car is similar, the details make it seem new. The front end has been modified with a slightly more aggressive bumper while at the back the usual dual exhaust system has been replaced with a single pipe, giving the car a toned down look which does suit it.
On the interior there has been a lot of work done in terms of technology, so while the design of the new Jaguar XF 2016 is similar to that of the previous model, the infotainment center and the general feel are now miles above it. It features the first quad-core powered infotainment center with a navigation unit which can pinpoint the car’s location even when there is no satellite signal through various algorithms.
Jaguar XF 2016 specs
Engine wise, the new Jaguar XF 2016 is now only available with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 which may come as a disappointment for many people but Jaguar said it was necessary in order to show the car’s place in their lineup. The engine, just like with the F-Type, is available with either 340 or 380 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque in both cases. While it is down from the previous V8, thanks to the aluminum construction, even the slowest model can hit 60 MPH in 5.1 seconds and have a maximum top speed of 155 MPH. The diesel version is expected to come 6 months after its release and it will feature a 2.0-liter Ingenium diesel which is going to offer around 200 horsepower and an average fuel consumption of nearly 40 MPG.
2016 Jaguar XF price and release date
The interior of the new Jaguar XF 2016 received a lot more equipment than before with more in the base trim of the car. This was also possible thanks to a slightly higher price tag of $51,000 which is right in line with its competitors. The top end model on the other hand is down to around $70,000 which was possible thanks to the retirement of the old V8 engine which didn’t really make any sense in the car. The 2016 Jaguar XF release date for the production model is expected to be some time in the mid of 2015 with a diesel version coming in the early 2016.
