If you prefer subtle, get the job done, down to earth truck, 2016 Ram Laramie Limited isn’t for you. In fact, there’s nothing subtle in it. Starting from the striking front grill to the huge RAM inscription on the tailgate, new Laramie Limited is designed to be a head turner. The shear amount of chrome on the outside will probably make it a hazard on the road on sunny days. The latest Ram trim manages to capture the essence of luxury truck niche. It will be powerful enough to get dirty with even the most demanding off road tasks, while remaining comfortable for everyday use. The all new Ram Laramie Limited 2016 trim will be available on 1500, 2500 and 3500 models.
2016 Ram Laramie Limited specs
The lighter 1500 version will be powered by 5.7 HEMI V8 engine, delivering 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. This is the standard 1500 model engine. Another option will be 3.0 EcoDiesel V6 engine, with 240 horsepower and respectable 420 lb-ft of torque. The fuel economy on road is estimated at 28 mpg for EcoDiesel model.
While at this point it isn’t known what engines will power heavy duty models of the new Ram Laramie Limited 2016, it is expected that, beside 5.7-liter HEMI, Ram will offer its standard engines, 6.4-liter HEMI and 6.7 Cummins engines.
2016 Ram Laramie Limited redesign
Ram designers made sure that 2016 Ram Laramie Limited will not be easily mistaken for any other model on the road. Beside the giant Ram letters on the tail gate (which are actually raised in metal, so they won’t be easily removed, if you had that idea), abundance of chrome plated details and distinctive front grill will make sure that everyone recognize it. The grills resembles the one introduced in previous Rebel model and is a definitive step away from the Dodge and Ram classic crosshair grille.
Sitting on 20 inch sporting wheels (chrome plated, of course) offers excellent clearance for off road opportunities and 1500 model will have an optional air suspension that can elevate it even further from the ground.
Staying in line with its luxury truck designation, the Ram Laramie Limited 2016 interior is all black leather, with seats details accented in Graystone leather, on top of Black Nature Plus premium leather. Real wood details are made from Black Argento. The only thing that is glossed are the details on the steering wheel.
The gauge cluster reminds us of stylish watch design, with Liquid Graphite-faced gauges surrounded by Liquid Chrome rings. The Uconnect infotainment systems features large 8.4 inch touch screen and comes with all the usual gadgets, like navigation and instant phone connectivity.
